About Me:

Ms. Arthy Jayavel has experience of 12 years in the field of mental health, specialised in child, adolescence, adult psychiatry and neuropsychology. She completed her undergraduate and postgraduate in psychology and pursued her B.Ed Special education and M.phil clinical psychology from Tamil Nadu. She has been expertise in behaviour modification and remedial trining for children with special needs like Autism, ADHD, LD, OCD, ODD, Anxiety, Depression, School phobia, behavioural issues. Additionally with adolescence handling addiction, sibling rivalry, relationship issues. She was also trained on adult psychiatry handling people with mental health related issues like anxiety, depression, bipolar, OCD, psychosis including psychoeducation, therapy for the client and family therapy for the care takers. She has contributed to Art therapy manual for children with palliative care, contributed to rings of autism booklet, article on family program for first episode psychosis to the society. She also published multiple articles in news paper on social phobia, addiction, family conflict in mental illness etc. she has been a media speaker periodically as per the need of the hour including been a guest speaker for mental health of working mothers and child mental health, speaker on causes for family conflicts, covid preventions and self care, behavioural techniques to handle children etc. She has Conducted multiple awareness programs for educating the people on prevention of mental disorders including Autism, sexual dysfunction, mental illness, addiction etc. She was also teaching and supervising clinical work for more than 200 students of postgraduate and M.phil scholars. She was a mentor for peer professionals and budding professional in the field of psychology. Her passion not only stop with the assessment, diagnosis but also providing therapy like CBT, DBT, ERP, Art Based therapy for children, adolescence and adult. Her assessment includes psychological, neuropsychological and social evaluation. She has been specialised in neuropsychological assessment and neurorehablitation in pre and post surgery for person with stroke, TBI, epilepsy etc. specialisation in health psychology dealing with gastrointestinal issues, dermatological issues, diabetes are specific area to enhance the general health of the individual.
